Rehabilitation Therapy Aide/Transporter – 1st Shift
General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, assist in the productive operation of a physical therapy practice. Maintains the physical therapy area and prep therapy sessions, aiding in the transport of residents. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates a positive, encouraging, and educational environment for team members
- Prepares physical therapy room for residents by following prescribed procedures and protocols
- Transport and prepare residents for physical therapy sessions
- Assist residents safely onto exercise equipment using ceiling lift
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Sterilizes physical therapy equipment before and after sessions
- Positioning equipment for therapist access and positioning resident on equipment
- Monitor residents during physical therapy sessions and document
- Completing necessary paperwork
- Transport residents safely to and from physician and clinical visits
- Using proper procedures, secure resident safely onto vehicle lift
- Safely secure resident in vehicle
- Comforts residents and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Informs Director of Rehabilitation Services of any vehicle issues
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School diploma or the equivalent
- Pennsylvania Nursing Assistant Certification
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in current state of residence and excellent driving record required
- Experience:
- Experience with resident contact
- Previously, worked in a long term healthcare setting
