Being a volunteer at the MEMH is a blessing. I’ve met wonderful staff and residents, especially my special friend Christina. It has become a very important part of my life.

I never leave the Margaret E. Moul Home without feeling I am blessed to have been there to help in some small way.

Volunteer Information

Behind the Scenes Volunteer

Do you have a talent for organization? Are you creative? A Behind the Scenes volunteer can help prepare for an event, wrap Holiday gifts, weed flower beds or other “behind the scenes” tasks to enhance residents’ lives without direct interaction.

Event Volunteer

The Home has numerous events throughout the year, and volunteers help make an event run smoothly. An event volunteer can help by preparing ahead of the event, getting involved the day of the event, or even serve on a committee to assist with planning and execution of an event.

Group Volunteer

Groups are always welcome to volunteer at the Margaret E. Moul Home. Special Events that usually happen annually for the residents, such as Monte Carlo Night, Dinner Dance, Easter Egg Hunt and Trick or Treat Night, are great opportunities for groups. Group Volunteers such as a band or Rotary group can also reach out about putting on a show for the residents, singing Holiday carols, helping to keep our rose garden in shape, even hosting a special event for residents like a Bingo, etc.

Outing Companion

Accompany the Home’s Therapeutic Recreation staff and residents on day trips to the park, shopping, movies and much more.

Adopt a Neighbor

Be a friend to a resident(s) by reading, putting a puzzle together, or just having a conversation.

Group Volunteers

School, church and organization groups may plan to come in to play games, help with crafts, assist with events, like the Dinner Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, and Trick or Treat Night. Groups may also give of their time by assisting with outside maintenance of the property.

Vocational Endeavors Volunteer

Assist the Vocational Endeavors Coordinator with local community jobs. If you know of an organization or small business to provide jobs for our residents, look no further. Please contact Kelly Kilgour, Vocational Endeavors Coordinator, 717.767.6463 or kkilgour@margaretemoul.org.
